That's pretty much confirmation that at One Piece or as part of One Piece or however you interpret that there is true historical records and actual answers. This is almost like a sneak peak of the end!!

Previously I'm pretty sure this translation said "Raftel", but that still makes sense! Assuming that comes from the Katakana "rafuteru", that can be written as "raftel" without any context, or it can be a katakana-ized english phrase, where "rafu teru" means "laugh tale". Gotcha! Presumably when that name was first written in the story, it had not been confirmed that this was it's connotation, leading to that former translation. Even though I kind of like the ambiguity of the original "rafuteru" in Japanese! That's kind of lost in translation had it adapted the island's name as "Laugh Tale" from the beginning.

Anyways, this is fucking crazy, this was a fucking crazy chapter, and I fucking loved it. Also naming the final island "Laugh Tale" after the treasure (or part of the treasure) left behind, which seems to literally be the tale of Joyboy and the world prior to the 100-year void, and presumably has crucial information about the uprising of the world government that they want to keep buried. This will take some more diving into at a later date I think
