my first impressions of dungeon meshi

alright! first impressions time!

this is a manga one of my best friends recommended to me, and i've really been meaning to check it out!

i don't really know anything about this other than that it's something my friend is obsessed with, though i'm sure that fact has given me some vague expectations.

i believe it's about dungeons (or people who explore dungeons) and food, hence the english title "delicious in dungeon".

anyways, let's get to it!

that's such a fun way to present a dungeon, it was just discovered in a small village and now some group of adventurers must complete it!

oh no they lost a bunch of food that's the worst!!

okay definitely classic d&d style fantasy, i'm seeing spells and heals and stuff.

oh gosh everyone's dead!

they were teleported out! interesting beginning, i assume they will recuperate and try again?

ah, farlyn got eaten... that sucks! can they really save her?

oh shit some of them resigned! i'm assuming they essentially mean party by guild and not like, organization.

so recuperate, find more friends, figure out how to buy (or steal) more gear, and then go save your friend that will almost certainly have been digested by then.

okay, so it seems like the party members get paid, so it is like an organization. there is an explicit party leader/employer then?

yeah see? even this person realizes she's being digested!!! this really doesn't seem very doable lol

yeah okay cool they are rushing right back in i'm glad they are taking the urgency of that just a little bit seriously lmao

so fighter probably with magic user and rogue, pretty classic

yeah i imagine monsters may carry all sorts of diseases!

oh hahaha floor 1 is like a hangout spot for adventurers cuz it's low level

this is so ridiculous!!!! this guy has wanted to eat monsters for a long time and just kept quiet!?!?!?

i like ridiculous, this is making me smile a lot!

okay, apparently the book is wrong about scorpions, eating their poison gives you diarrhea! sure! why not!

honestly i'd trust the plants to give you less diseases than the monsters personally

like any good cooking show (manga), the food is prepared ahead of time.

is this guy gonna join our party? i honestly can't tell at this point. i'm gonna guess he will.

lmao it's because he wants to eat a red dragon that's so fucking amazing!!!!

wow that was amazing!!! i had so much fun reading that and i'm so excited to read more of this!! it was absurd yet oddly specific and it made me smile and laugh all of the way through!! i'm super excited to grow more attatched to these characters and i'm already thinking about how cool it will be to see all of this in the anime when i'm done!
